There’s a lot of talk these days about Employee Engagement. The Gallup Organization has tied profitability, productivity and guest satisfaction directly to the level of engagement experienced in the workforce.
At First Hospitality Group, a key driver for high performance is an engaged management team who creates a great environment for their associate teams. Starting with the GM, every department head has the privilege and the duty to provide structure, guidance, support and inspiration to all members of the team. Each of our hotels is unique, so the “special sauce” of supervisory support is customized to the needs of the team.
That is what I found at Chicago South Loop Hotel, recipient of the prestigious first quarter James L. Schwartz Award. This award recognizes the hotel with an unbeatable mix of mobilized management teams, who create engaged associate teams, resulting in smartly managed properties that yield exceptional operating profit and guest satisfaction.
As one of our independent boutique hotels, Chicago South Loop is home to a wonderful and diverse group of people who are committed to the guest and to each other. Jennifer Kerr (General Manager), Sheila Ward (Director of Sales), and Debra Blake (Executive Housekeeper) accepted the award on behalf of the hotel but each acknowledged every member of the team, knowing that the team’s effort created a winning outcome!
Congratulations, Chicago South Loop Hotel, for winning the James L. Schwartz Cup.
